Meet the Teachers
Mrs. Pederson- Kindergarten
Lois Pederson has an Elementary Education degree from Queens University of Charlotte.  She has taught at Providence Day School in Charlotte and was a teacher in the Education Department at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.  Lois has also taught preschool at Carmel Presbyterian Church and Good Shepard Presbyterian Church.  Lois is a member of  Allison Creek Presbyterian Church and started their preschool program there.  She is also an ordained Elder in her church.  Her family includes Gary, her husband, Scott, her son, his wife and two children,  Nicole, her daughter, and her husband.  Her hobbies are boating, gardening and reading.  The Pedersons live on Lake Wylie. 
 
Mrs. Lowry- First Grade
Fran is a graduate of Winthrop University with a BS in Education and has done post graduate work at both USC Upstate and Converse college.  She has over thirty years experience teaching in public and private schools at the elementary and middle school levels.  Having taught for many years she also has created a science curriculum, sponsored a middle school book club and helped with library fundraisers.  Fran and her husband live in York, South Carolina.  Her hobbies are reading, nature study and exercise.
 
Mrs. Wilkerson - 2nd/3rd Grades
Shay Wilkerson is a graduate of the University of the South (Sewanee) with a B.A. in Russian History.  She taught Latin at Lakepointe Academy and home schooled her five children for over seven years.  Shay worked for the American Embassy in Moscow after completion of her degree.  Shay, her husband and children live in York, South Carolina.  She is a Master Gardener, avid reader and a runner.
 
Mrs. Corley - 4th/5th Grades
Cathy Corley holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Presbyterian College.  During her career she has taught Kindergarten through a 7th grade gifted program, including several years as a Homebound Instructor.  Since 2004, she has taught her own children in a home school environment using a classical curriculum and serves on the Accountability Group for the Palmetto Homeschoolers Association.
 
TEACHING ASSISTANTS
 
Miss Winslow - Kindergarten Assistant
Katie graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Social Studies.  While in college she managed the ASU computer labs and worked as an office assistant.  She also served in a number of volunteer capacities.  Katie has honed her teaching skills through her student teaching positions and as a Vacation Bible School leader.
 
Mrs. Warner - 1st - 3rd grade Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Warner holds a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and has done graduate work at both Leigh University and James Madison University.  She has taught art as well as preschool and has served as a substitute teacher.  Most recently, she worked in the education department at a local museum.
