Meet the Teachers
Mrs. Pederson- Kindergarten
Lois Pederson has an Elementary Education degree from Queens University of Charlotte.  She has taught at Providence Day School in Charlotte and was a teacher in the Education Department at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.  Lois has also taught preschool at Carmel Presbyterian Church and Good Shepard Presbyterian Church.  Lois is a member of  Allison Creek Presbyterian Church and started their preschool program there.  She is also an ordained Elder in her church.  Her family includes Gary, her husband, Scott, her son, his wife and two children,  Nicole, her daughter, and her husband.  Her hobbies are boating, gardening and reading.  The Pedersons live on Lake Wylie. 

Mrs. Lowry- First and Second Grades
Fran Lowry is delighted to be the teacher of thirteen vivacious first and second grade students at PES.  She brings her passion for teaching and a love of children to her multi-age classroom.  Fran graduated from Winthrop University with a BS in Education and completed post graduate work at Converse College and USC Upstate.  She has taught at the elementary and middle school levels for over thirty years.  As a mother of four children, Fran believes that children are unique, God-given gifts.  She recently moved from Spartanburg, SC, to York, SC with her husband, Steve.  Fran enjoys reading, gardening, music and exercise.

Mrs. Teale- Third and Fourth Grades
Karen Teale has a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  She has taught first graders through middle schoolers in both private and public schools in NY and NC.  Karen has designed and run several programs for children including after school tutoring/mentoring, summer enrichment, and English as a second language as well as a summer sports camp.  She enjoys teaching curious minds through hands-on learning and discovery and truly appreciates the responsibility that being a teacher carries.  Karen lives with her husband in Lake Wylie.
